In order to achieve all our goals, we engage in and support various community initiatives. We work hard to raise awareness and sustain our program, but we also seek to bring protection to all children through education efforts, support local foster families, and provide necessities as well as comfort items to children in foster care. Check out our initiatives below for more information.
Darkness 2 Light Training
The ultimate mission of D2L, to end childhood sexual abuse, can only be accomplished by sharing the solution of prevention, awareness and education with more and more people. We believe that learning the facts about childhood sexual abuse helps prevent it. Talking about it helps prevent it. Getting involved helps prevent it. The truth is, if childhood sexual abuse can be prevented, it can be stopped. That’s why D2L exists – to empower adults through awareness and educational programs to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to childhood sexual abuse.
Children's Voice: CASA, Inc. is committed to helping educate our community about childhood sexual abuse prevention. If you'd like to host a training for your workplace, church group, social group or family, please contact CVCI Coordinators, Ann Mathis or Joy Bates today.
Loving Stitches
Loving Stitches is a group of quilters in the Douglas County area that create beautiful, handmade quilts for every CASA child. This amazing group of talented women have made these gorgeous quilts for our foster children since 2009. That's over 250 quilts and countless hours of work! Thanks to Loving Stitches, our CASA volunteers deliver a personalized quilt to each and every child. These "security blankets" truly provide a sense of comfort and love to children that need it most. Thank you so much Loving Stitches!
Sweet Cases
More often than not, when children enter foster care they must carry all of their earthly belongings (if they have any) in garbage bags. At Together We Rise, they are working to end this practice. TWR is a nonprofit organization that provides Sweet Cases (Duffel Bag, Hygiene Kit, Blanket, Coloring Books, Crayons, etc.) to foster children aged 10 and under. At Children's Voice: CASA, Inc. we are dedicated to working with TWR and providing Sweet Cases to all of our eligible kids.
